Whether a Broncos fan or not, this story can sure make one a Mark Sanchez fan!
A recent trade landed this former Eagle quarterback in Denver. While football is not the hot topic in the news right now, the efforts Sanchez is making off the field is definitely worth mentioning.
“A Night of Champions” was the name of this prom for children that may have missed their own prom due to an illness, treatment, or just simply not well enough to attend. The girls were pampered with volunteers that did their hair, nails and makeup. Then they walked a red carpet to a suite located in Sports Authority Stadium to be welcomed at the door by Sanchez.
The new Denver Bronco remembers aspects of his prom and feels that everyone should have the opportunity to have that special night, and that’s just what it was for over 100 patients of Children’s Hospital Colorado.
“I just think it’s important when you’ve been blessed like I have — like any guy on our team has — you’ve got to be a blessing to other people,” Sanchez said. “You’ve got to give back. I didn’t get here on my own. You owe a lot to a lot of other people — people who took time out of their day to come and give you encouragement, to come and help you, to take you to practice and do stuff. This is what that is.” (Denver Post)
