“A Transaction Coordinator is a person responsible for managing and monitoring the transaction process through interfacing with Real Estate professionals, clients, escrow companies and property management companies. A TC is responsible for maintaining escrow files and the production, coordination and processing of all information and documents pertaining to the sale and escrow of each home. A TC will often perform accounting-related, administrative and clerical duties, including setting home inspection appointments and assisting agents in communications and Client Relationship Management (CRM) duties.” (clareity.com)
Basically, a transaction coordinator is responsible for a lot of behind-the-scenes tasks that are involved with every real estate transaction. Some of the duties include (but are not limited to) escrow management, working with the title company, scheduling important dates, working to meet deadlines, and any other clerical work that may need attention.
This diagram from clareity.com is a more in depth illustration of the responsibilities of a TC:
Everyone involved in the real estate transaction benefits from having a person who is solely dedicated to making sure everything goes smoothly all of the way through closing.
For agents, they are relieved from their administrative duties so they can focus on what they do best – create opportunities for their clients to make their buying or selling dreams come true!
For clients, having a transaction coordinator readily available to answer your questions concerning anything from inspection dates to the closing process. Your agent is very busy and may not be able to answer your questions when they arise. However, a TC is always ready to address any concerns that you may have regarding your transaction!
Our transaction coordinator, Meaghan Blevans, works hard to flawlessly provide exceptional service to our clients, agents, title companies, lenders, and everyone else involved in the real estate transaction process.
