We know summer just began, and the kids are not even starting to think about the next school year. As parents, however, our kids education is constantly a top priority. That being said, did you know that Colorado ranked #2 for best schools in 2015?
There’s no doubt that Colorado offers many benefits for those looking to relocate. With the capital city of Denver being one of the fastest growing cities in the U.S., the off the charts housing market, the stable job market, all of the outdoor activities, and the great education offered, there is no wonder people from all over are flocking to this great state!
The job market seems to continue to get more and more competitive over time. Other than the few unique exceptions, it has been proven that at least a bachelor’s degree is necessary to obtain a well-paying job these days. Because of this, parents – from day 1 of Kindergarten – are looking for the best school systems to place their children in to ensure a quality education that adequately prepares them to be successful in both in college and their future career.
“WalletHub compared the quality of education in the 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia by analyzing 13 key metrics that range from student-teacher ratios to standardized-test scores to dropout rates.” (wallethub.com)
The only state that ranked higher than Colorado overall was Massachusetts. Colorado actually outranked them in the quality of the school system, but Massachusetts came in higher in reading & math test scores.
Good education in turn creates good workforce which stimulates the economy by putting more tax dollars back into the system to fund schools. It’s a cycle that has proven true over the years, and Colorado is a great example.
“Back-to-school season isn’t just about shopping for school supplies. Many parents also must consider the quality of education their children receive in order to succeed.” (wallethub.com)
In summary, if you are looking for a place to settle down and start a family, look no further. If you already have children in school, but have considered relocating (maybe in hopes of finding a better educational system), then you may have just found the right place for your family.
